Music
We love singing and praising God with Scripture and praise songs that express our deep love to our Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We also sing hymns, which express the faith of the Church throughout history, and reflect the Church’s rich heritage. We treasure the old and celebrate the new.
It is important that music be a response of the entire congregation, an offering of worship given to God. The congregation, therefore, is the choir. The role of the music team is to prompt God’s people to free their hearts to worship the living God! They are there, not to receive honor as performers, but to facilitate what is to happen—worship of the Lord! We encourage people to genuinely and openly express their love and adoration to God in the fullness of biblical worship.

Steve Barendse, Elder
Steve grew up in the Holland, MI area and was raised in a Christian home. He graduated from Prairie Bible Institute. He and his wife Donna currently live in Zeeland. Steve sells equipment and consumables to the Metal Casting Industry, traveling primarily in Michigan and Indiana. He enjoys time spent with grandkids, as well as music and woodworking. He is also involved in the music ministry at New Life.
