Who We Are

Who We Are

New Life Fellowship was planted in Holland, MI in 1998 and was organized in 2003 to reach out to people who were longing for solid biblical and grace-driven teaching combined with relevant and present-day expressions of worship.

In the next few minutes, we’d like to take the opportunity to help you get to know us better!

New Life is part of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC), and our purpose is simple:

  • to bring glory to God by enjoying Him forever!
  • to be part of a worldwide movement that’s working together to restore the world through Christ by spreading the good news about Him and living out His new life

So…

We’re Committed to God

The OPC has churches in lots of communities throughout the United States. They’re called to show the love of God and the power of Christ’s message of restoration to a society that is burned out from sin, empty materialism, and shattered relationships.

So we like to meet together to worship our Creator and Redeemer.  When we worship, we adore Him, thank Him, ask for help, and get blessed by His presence!  Through the preaching of the gospel, God’s lovingly shouting out to us that He’s got a plan for rescuing us by calling us to believe and follow his Word.

That means that our churches care about people. We show concern for everyone, especially the poor and victims of such catastrophes as famines and earthquakes.  And we’ll try to show you this love and care (sorry, but it won’t be perfect!) if you choose to connect with us.

Grounded in Scripture

We also believe that only the Bible can give us the true knowledge of who God is and how we can delight in Him.  It teaches that God the Father gave up his Son Jesus Christ to death on a cross made from a tree to pay the penalty for the sins of his people. That’s why we want to share with you and everyone else the joy that comes from a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ!

So why that funny name Orthodox?  (Yeah, we get that a lot!)  Well, you know how an orthodontist helps people have straight teeth?  Well, the ortho part in orthodontist comes from a Greek word that means straight, and the dox in ortho-dox comes from a Greek word for thinking.  All that to say here you’ll find straight teaching on the Bible!

Our church isn’t new. You see, we’re part of a long line of people over 1,000’s of years who have followed this God of the Bible, and believe it’s this God who created the world, made us in His image, and loves us enough to forgive us and make us His own adopted children.  The record of that story is found in the Old and New Testaments, which you may know as the Bible.  Our journey is expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith, and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.  And while it’s not God’s Word, it’s a pretty good summary of some of the key teachings found in the Bible.

Your Turn to Take the Next Step!

If you’re looking for a church that…

  • delights in this amazing God who is the all-powerful Lord and Creator of the universe
  • teaches that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died for sinners
  • lives by the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit, and
  • tries to live in the power of God’s Word

… you’re invited to come and see what the body of New Life Fellowship is all about!
